ABC US broke ground on a 64,000 sq ft fastener packaging facility in Pioneer, OH. The project is projected to be complete by the end of 2021.
The new Pioneer facility will handle fastener packaging operations. ABC will move raw and finished packaging materials plus automated, semi-automated and manual packing operations 14 miles from Bryan, OH to Pioneer.
“The new Pioneer packaging facility will have office space for current office and administrative staff, as well as space for additional employees,” manufacturing VP Allyn Luce said.
Sixty employees will relocate to Pioneer and 30 new positions planned between Bryan and Pioneer operations.
ABC has ordered two automated packaging machines and the Pioneer facility is planned for continued investment in machine capital – including robotic material handling and packaging.
The changes open up the 200,000 sq ft Bryan space for additional fastener manufacturing equipment and a new training center, Luce said.
