The Russian Ministry of Industry & Trade recommended to the government that a 11.6% duty be added to imported steel bolts, nuts and spring washers, Fastener+Fixing Magazine reported.
The Russian Ministry announced the findings of its “safeguard” investigation of fastener imports.
The recommended duty would be 11.6% or not less than US$282.4 per ton, whichever is greater, applied to imports of fasteners covered the six tariff codes:
7318 15 810 0; 7318 15 890 0; 7318 15 900 9; 7318 16 910 9; 7318 16 990 0; and 7318 21 000 9.

The Ministry’s announcement notes the tariffs would not apply to fasteners imported for automotive applications.
Fasteners from Belarus and “developing countries” included in the Russian Federation’s preferential trading list would also be excluded.
The tariffs would apply to fasteners from the Peoples’ Republic of China, Hong Kong and also Taiwan. ©2010 GlobalFastenerNews.com and Fastener+Fixing.
