College Honors Endries With Honorary Doctorate

Silver Lake College of Manitowoc, WI, presented an honorary doctorate degree to Robert Endries during 2010 graduation ceremonies.

Endries and his wife, Pat Endries, started a fastener distributorship in the basement of their Brillion, WI, home in 1970 with $5,000 in capital.

Endries International grew to 70 locations, 450 employees and $145 million in sales by 2004 and was sold to Ferguson Enterprises in 2005.

Endries was the 1983-84 president of the National Fastener Distributors Association and the 1993 president of the Specialty Tools & Fasteners Distributors Association.

In 1986 Endries was named the Wisconsin Small Business Person of the Year and in 2007 he was inducted into the Wisconsin Business Hall of Fame.

Silver Lake College cited Endries’ role as chair of the college trustees and honorary chair of its capital campaign; leadership in several religious boards; a fund drive to aid the mentally and physically handicapped; and Manitowoc’s Capitol Civic Center.©2010 GlobalFastenerNews.com
