EC Sets Exemption Deadline for Malaysian Fastener Producers
Malaysian fastener producers and exporters seeking exemption from registration with the European Commission over its transshipment investigation must make their requests before December 3, according to Malaysia’s Ministry of International Trade and Industry.
On October 28, the EC initiated an investigation into the possible circumvention of anti-dumping measures on imports of certain iron or steel fasteners originating from China consigned from Malaysia.
All imports of certain iron or steel fasteners from Malaysia must now be registered with EC.
Exemptions can be granted to Malaysian exporters/producers that can prove they are not related to producers in China and are not transshipping certain iron or steel fasteners from China.
Requests for exemption have to be made before 3 December 2010 to: European Commission, Directorate General for Trade, Directorate H, N-105 4/92, 1049 Brussels, Belgium. Fax: +32 2297 8486 Email: TRADE-AD-FASTENERS-MALAYSIA@ec.europa.eu
