NEW BRIEFS
Jaguar Land Rover North America LLC is recalling certain 2010 and 2011 model year Jaguar XJ sedans to correct a windshield wiper flaw.
Jaguar XJ fasteners that weren’t secured properly during assembly could fail, causing the wipers to lose synchronization and crash into each other. Such collisions could result in loss of wipers and reduced visibility in poor weather.
The recall includes 6,475 vehicles built from July 28, 2009 through Nov. 3, 2010.
The company also issued a recall for its Land Rover LR2 SUVs to fix a potential problem with its air bags.
Part of the LR2 compact SUV’s mechanism for the driver’s front airbag could become disconnected during the assembly process. As a result the airbag may not deploy, increasing the risk of injury.
The recall affects 2,956 vehicles built from Nov. 12, 2009 through Aug. 23, 2010, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
Both recalls are expected to begin by Dec. 13. ©2010 GlobalFastenerNews.com
