Fastener manufacturer Brass Copper Fittings India plans to augment its operations by adding a new nonferrous metal extrusion unit for brass, bronze and copper rods/ingots/ billets with a capacity for 450 tons/month.
The US$14 million operation would employ about 300 workers at a facility in Jamnagar. Commercial production would begin within three months with a focus on the U.S. market.
The company said the nonferrous metal industry is growing at a “good pace” and predicts year-on-year growth of about 15% for the next three years.
Managing Director Mayur shah expressed confidence that the operation would be profitable in its first year, achieving US$40 million within 12 months of production commencing.
The company may add a CNC machining unit by 2012.
With current annual sales of US$14 million, Brass Copper Fittings India manufactures fasteners, terminals, conduit fittings, hose barbs and other products, which it exports to 34 countries. ©2010 GlobalFastenerNews.com
