Japan Fastener Exports Edge Up
Japan fastener exports rose 4.9% to 79,848 tons in the first quarter of 2011, with the export value climbing 3% to 62.2 billion yen, according to ChinaFastener.Info.
The largest export category was “other bolts” (iron or steel), taking up 57.8% of the total volume and 44.1% of the total value. The export volume for this category grew 4.7% to 46,183 tons while value gained 3.6% to 27.4 billion yen.
Coach screws showed the largest volume increase at 35.8%, with stainless steel nuts coming in a close second at 31.5% in volume growth.
