Anixter International received the Control Systems Integrators Association “Partner of the Year” award. The award recognizes a company contributions to the betterment of CSIA.

 Dan-Loc has now opened five North American locations since 2007.

EFC International continues to subsidize fuel expenses for all employees the company implemented in 2008 when oil and gas prices were breaking records.  CEO Doug Adams decided to subsidize fuel costs amid concerns that it may force employees to consider other employment closer to their homes.

“Gas prices continue to be at a level impacting the world-wide economy,” the company stated. “EFC realizes the impact as a company due to their position as a major supplier to the automotive, recreational vehicle, commercial and distribution industries.”      

The subsidy program pays eligible employees gas mileage reimbursement for the number of actual days worked on a monthly basis. Mileage is based on actual miles from employee’s home to the office.

Systemax Inc. launched GlobalIndustrial.ca and added 70,000 SKUs – including to its Fasteners & Hardware section – to total more than 325,000 industrial products.

GlobalIndustrial.ca is modeled on the U.S. version of the B2B e-commerce website, GlobalIndustrial.com, operated by Global Industrial, a Systemax subsidiary.

The Canadian website provides prices in local currency and quotes freight charges to Canada.

“The launch of the Global Industrial B2B Canadian e-commerce site enables us to improve the service to and overall experience of our Canadian customers through a more tailored and streamlined site, mirroring the successful functionality of our U.S. site,” Systemax CEO Richard Leeds said. 

“With the new site, Canadian customers can now purchase products and manage accounts online through an interface that is designed to meet their specific needs and offers increased customer support and services.”

Global Industrial also added an iPhone application and the use of Quick Response codes that can be scanned with the camera in a mobile phone. 

The iPhone application enables customers to photograph a product or ask a question and send it to the Global Industrial research team.

Heidi Volltrauer was promoted from vice president for sales & marketing to COO of Volt Industrial Plastics, CEO and founder Joseph Volltrauer announced.

She started with Volt during her college years on the production floor as a parts breaker. 

She subsequently held shipping, front office and sales roles.

Volltrauer founded the All American Fastener Show in 2010.
