Republic Receives ISO 14001 Certification

Republic Technologies International LLC announced that two of its plants have received ISO 14001 environmental certification. CEO Joseph Lapinsky said the certification for Canton and Massillon, OH, plants “underscores Republic�s commitment to combining outstanding business practices with environmental leadership.” Lapinsky added that he intends for all Republic operations to be certified by the end of the 2002.
Republic also announced ratification of a new labor contract through 2006 to reduce costs and support the company�s effort to emerge from Chapter 11 bankruptcy.
