Chuck Schott is the new president of Lake Erie Screw Corporation. The position had been vacant since Jerry Begue departed last year.
Schott joined Lake Erie from appliance maker Electrolux where he said he learned that price is important and �you have to get all the cost out of the plant. China is for real.� Schott described himself as a �turnaround guy.�
Lake Erie was founded in 1946 by John Wasmer Sr. In 1986 Lake Erie was sold to Brian Campbell to form TriMas Corporation, which later became part of publicly held MascoTech Corporation. Privately held Heartland Industrial Partners acquired MascoTech in 2000. Heartland formed Metaldyne as a manufacturer of metal formed components, assemblies and modules.
