A majority expressed “low” or “very low” confidence in the White House on business matters, but the U.S. Congress rated even lower.
With half rating their White House confidence as “very low” plus another 13% “low,” a total of 63% were negative vs. 75% against the U.S. Congress.
A total of 13% rated their confidence in the White House as “moderate”; 11% “high” and another 11% “very high.”
The U.S. Congress scored even lower, with three quarters of FIN Survey participants rating the legislature negatively on business issues. A total of 40% rated Congress at “very low” and another 35% “low” on business issues. Added together, three-quarters were negative about Congress at the end of 2011, compared with 51% a year ago and 56.1% two years ago.
About15% pegged their congressional confidence at “moderate”; 5% “high”; and 5% “very high.”
