ACQUISITION: Acme Adds Watson Metal to Threaded Rod Acquisition
Denver-based Acme Manufacturing Co. acquired a second threaded rod manufacturer – Watson Metal Products Corporation, adding to its 2008 acquisition of Threaded Rod Co, Acme vice president of sales & marketing Timothy Broderick announced.
Founded in 1946, New Jersey-based Watson Metal Products was privately owned – most recently by second-generation family members.

Threaded Rod Co. was renamed by Acme to Indianapolis Threaded Rod.
Threaded Rod started in 1958 by Harry Branson in his Irvington, IN, garage. During his more than 50 years in the fastener industry Branson was in distribution 13 years and manufacturing 37 years. He died in 2006.
Rebecca Branson succeeded her father as CEO in 2002. She was the 2003-2005 associate chair for the National Fastener Distributors Association and on the STAFDA board.
