ACQUISITION: Bossard To Acquire Electrical Products Supplier Intrado

Bossard intends to acquire Intrado AG (Hünenberg), which has served the Swiss industry with a range of electrical engineering products for over 25 years, Fastener + Fixing Magazine reports.
Intrado AG is a subsidiary of Jacob GmbH in Kernen, Germany.

“With the planned acquisition of the company Intrado AG, Bossard will be complementing its own range of fastening components for the electrical engineering industry, as well as strengthening its competence and expertise in a field that requires intensive consulting,” Bossard stated.

In 2012, Intrado AG reached a turnover of CHF 3.2 million with 10 employees.

Intrado AG was founded in 1984 in the Swiss village of Rotkreuz as a trading company for electrotechnical components. Today, Intrado has its head office in Hünenberg.

Since 1992, Intrado has been the general importer in Switzerland for Jacob GmbH´s range of cable glands. In 2005, Intrado was integrated into Jacob GmbH as a fully-owned subsidiary.

Due to the Bossard deal, the company Jacob will also have the opportunity to distribute its products globally via Bossard, according to Fastener + Fixing.

For 2012, Bossard achieved sales of CHF 487.2 million, or 2.9% more than 2011. In local currency, sales increased by 1.4%. Pure organic growth was 2.1% in Swiss francs and 0.8% in local currency. ©2013 GlobalFastenerNews.com & Fastener + Fixing Magazine
