Tier one distributor D.B. Roberts Company acquired another tier one distributor Arconix USA and the combined distributorships will offer 100 million fasteners, the companies announced. \
The acquisition makes the combined companies become “by far the largest PennEngineering distributor,” fastener acquisition specialist Richard Hagan of New York-based Pinnacle Capital observed.
The Arconix business comprises what was R.C. Dudek & Company Inc., Hagan pointed out. Dudek had been sold to PennEnginering in 1999 and Penn changed the name to Arconix.
PennEngineering was acquired by Tinicum Capital Partners in 2005 and is now headed by the former management team of SPS Technologies. The managers left when SPS was acquired by Precision Castparts in 2003 and have subsequently focused PennEngineering on manufacturing.
Arconix vice president Mark Harris told customers the acquisition would increase product lines, add product specialists and increase inventories.
D.B. Roberts added that its customers would gain “extended hours of operation on the West Coast.”
