ACQUISITION: Technology Components Acquires Zak

Texas-based Technology Components Southwest LLC acquired St. Louis-area Zak & Associates, Tom Buddenbohn announced.

Both distributorships specialize in the OEM market.

Zak’s Tom Vogel will retire in 2008 after more than 40 years in the fastener industry. Vogel started in 1966 in aerospace sales for Hi-Shear and then joined Kaynar. He later was director of manufacturing for Olympic Fastening Systems and was president of Long-Lok. As president of ITT Harper led the difficult closing the of the industry icon due to lower prices from Japan. Vogel acquired Zak in 1984.

Both companies are Bollhoff Rivnut preferred distributors.

Technology Components principals Jimmy Brown and Tom Buddenbohn are excited about the growth opportunities in the Midwest market.

Technology Components was formed in 2003 after acquiring the sales and distribution rights for Bollhoff Rivnut products in the Southwest region of the U.S. and Mexico border. ITW and Emhart products, self-clinch hardware, torque tools, cable ties, Wera screwdriving components and other components have been added to the product line.
