ACQUISITION: Textron Acquires Advantage Molding

Textron Fastening Systems acquired Advantage Molding and Decorating, a privately owned U.S. company, to expand its telecommunications capabilities.
Advantage, a leading supplier of injection molded parts, tooling and pad-printed designs, manufactures highly decorative lenses for use in the wireless telecommunications industry. Based in Mount Prospect, IL, with a second facility in Naples, FL, Advantage adds capabilities to Textron Fastening Systems� Advanced Solutions Group located in Gilbert, AZ. With 2000 sales forecast at $20.4 million, Advantage�s customer base includes Motorola, Advanced Dial, Borg Indak and Flextronics. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
�This acquisition builds on our recent acquisition of InteSys Technologies and increases our participation in the high-growth wireless industry,� Textron Fastening CEO Jack Sights explained.
Textron Fastening Systems is a $2.2 billion supplier of engineered fasteners, assemblies and inventory management services. The fastening division has 16,000 employees in more than 70 countries.
