Atlantic Acquires Fasteners Inc. � Atlantic Fasteners acquired Fasteners Inc. of Newington, CT.
�We pursued Fasteners Inc. for over eight years and two owners because of its sterling reputation and high-quality product mix that complements ours,� Atlantic president Patrick O�Toole said.
O�Toole added that with sales up 19% last year �Atlantic is beginning to run out of room, so an added benefit of buying Fasteners Inc. is inheriting its plentiful office and warehouse space.�
Started 39 years ago, Fasteners Inc. employs 12 people at its facility just south of Hartford, CT.
Atlantic has been in business 20 years and employs 51 full- and part-time people. Atlantic specializes in bar code inventory control programs.
Both companies trade primarily in the Northeastern U.S.
O�Toole noted that Fasteners Inc. has twice been named to Industrial Distribution magazine�s Top 50 Small Industrial Distributors.

Setko Becomes Brighton-Best Division � Brighton-Best Socket Screw Mfg. Inc. president Perry Rosenstein and Setko Fasteners Inc. president Jim Brown announced that Setko would become an independent division of Brighton-Best.
Elgin, IL-based Setko, founded in 1935, supplies specialty socket screws and fasteners to distributors.

SimRidge Buys Huck Jacobson � Newly formed SimRidge Technologies acquired Huck Jacobson Plastics Group from Alcoa Inc.
The injection molding plants had reported within Alcoa�s Tucson, AZ-based Huck International unit. Huck primarily makes metal fasteners.
Founder Harvey Jacobson sold three plastics and three metal processing plants to Cordant Technologies Inc. in 1998. Cordant subsidiary Huck was put in charge of managing the businesses. In 2000 Alcoa purchased Cordant.
New Braunfels, TX-based SimRidge is a partnership headed by Gary Simons and Hollis Wooldridge. Consumer products and computers are the firm�s largest markets.\
