ACQUISITIONS: Tramec Acquires Kansas Plastics
Continental Aero parent company Tramec, LLC acquired Kansas Plastics Company, a custom manufacturer of injection molded components and assemblies.
Kansas Plastics will align with Tramec LLC’s Tramec Sloan business unit, adding injection-molding experiencce to the company’s existing portfolio of U.S.-based fastener manufacturing capabilities.
“Our acquisition of Kansas Plastics Company positions Tramec Sloan with the ability to offer increased value to our commercial vehicle customers and allows us to present our existing manufacturing capabilities to Kansas Plastics Company’s customer base,” stated Tramec CEO Gary Sullo.
Kansas Plastics president Richard Bloomer will remain with the company as VP of Operations.
Wellington, KS-based Kansas Plastics is an ISO 9001:2008 and UL certified company utilizing plastic injection molding machines with clamping forces between 60 and 1000 metric tons along with a variety of secondary operations. Kansas Plastics Company processes engineering and commodity grade thermoplastic and composite materials for commercial vehicle, aerospace, HVAC, agriculture, power distribution, consumer products and other market segments.
Tramec acquired fastener master distributor Continental-Aero in 2012.
Tramec LLC was formed in 2008 with the merger of Iola, KS-based Tramec Corp., founded in 1980 to service the heavy-duty tractor and trailer markets, and MacLean Crewson of Buffalo, NY.
Tramec operates three business units: Tramec Sloan, Hill Fastener Products, and Continental Aero.
