Acument is Master-Licensee for ITW Shakeproof’s ClearDrive Fastener

Acument Global Technologies Inc. and ITW Shakeproof entered into a Master-Licensee agreement for ITW’s new ClearDrive fastener feature. 
As Master-Licensee, Acument is authorized to license the ClearDrive feature, with its own licensed products such as TORX and TORX PLUS drive systems, to third parties. 

The ClearDrive feature is available for licensing to qualified suppliers.

“When combined with the TORX or TORX PLUS recess, the ClearDrive feature dramatically reduces the occurrence of recess fill associated with the most common organic coatings applied using the dip-spin process,” Acument stated in a press release.

Benefits of improved productivity and reduced costs as a result of less handing, rework, sorting and scrap are shared by the applicator, fastener supplier and end user.  The ability to convert away from higher cost electroplates is another advantage the ClearDrive feature provides.

“The benefits, specifically cost savings a fastener manufacturer can realize, are phenomenal,” said Marty Bieschke, Director of Intellectual Property and Licensing for Acument. 

The ClearDrive feature was a 2012 Automotive News PACE Award Finalist.
