Alcoa Fastener Segment Sales Top $1.4b

Alcoa reported revenue at its Engineered Products and Solutions segment, including Alcoa Fastening Systems, totaled $1.4 billion, up 17% over third quarter 2010 and an increase of $3 million over second quarter 2011. Segment ATOI was $138 million, up $24 million, or 21%, from third quarter 2010 and down $11 million, or 7%, compared to second quarter 2011. 

“Sequentially, decreased ATOI was mainly driven by unfavorable price and mix across most businesses as well as the cost impact of flooding at the Bloomsburg, PA, plant,” the company stated.

Nine-month Engineered Products and Solutions revenue grew 13.7% to $3.99 billion, while ATOI slipped 5% to $317 million.

Overall Alcoa revenue increased 21% to $6.4 billion during Q3, while 

income from continuing operations rose to $172 million, up 182% compared to third quarter 2010, down 47% from second quarter 2011. ©2011 GlobalFastenerNews.com
