Jason Sandefur

Alcoa Fastening Systems will build two manufacturing facilities in China to make aerospace and railway fasteners. The 50,000 sq ft factories will be located in the Suzhou Industrial Park about 60 miles from Shanghai.
The announcement follows news that AFS opened a full service logistics center in Shanghai in early 2005.
Torrance, CA-based AFS said production at the railway fastener facility would begin by the end of this year. Production at the aerospace plant should begin by October 2006. The facilities are expected to employ a minimum of 250 workers by 2007.
AFS has 6,000 employees, and manufactures at 26 locations in 7 countries. Web: alcoafasteners.com 2005 FastenerNews.com
