Asian Steel Prices Heading Up

Market analysts expect Taiwan’s China Steel Corp. to follow China’s lead and raise prices for the beginning of 2013, CENS.com reports. CSC is scheduled to release its pricing update for January and February on November 22.
Chung Hung Steel of Taiwan is expected to follow suit on November 23, when it unveils its price structure.

Taiwan steelmakers are likely to follow the lead of steel mills in China, such as Baosteel, Wuhan Iron and Steel Corp. (Wisco) and Ansteel, which increased prices for December.

“Industry sources indicated that the Chinese steelmakers’ price rise for December would help to stabilize the steel market,” CENS.com reports. ©2012 GlobalFastenerNews.com
