The ASTM International Committee F16 on Fasteners awarded Harry Brenner with the 2005 Fred Weingruber Award.\
Brenner, an engineer with Almay Consultants and ASTM member since 1977, has been involved in fastener standardization, manufacture, research and testing since 1945
After earning a bachelor”s degree in aerospace engineering Brenner became a project engineer in the Navy”s aeronautics bureau where he initiated the government contracts to investigate the potential of titanium in structural fasteners. After earning a master”s degree in aerospace engineering he became chief engineer with Olympic Screw and Rivet Corp. and then founded Almay Research & Testing Corp. He was president and director of research until 2003 when he began Almay Consultants.
Brenner also is a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers and the American Society for Metals.
