August Fastener Sales Down at Fastenal
Fastenal Co. reported daily fastener sales dropped 4.1% in August, while sales of other products gained 3.1%.
Overall sales increased 9.9% to $364.9 million in August, with daily sales rising 0.3% to $15.9 million.
Sales to manufacturing customers gained 0.2%, while sales to non-residential construction customers fell 2.8% during the month.
Fastenal’s workforce grew 1.4% to 19,891 employees in August. Distribution personnel increased 9% to 2,493, while manufacturing personnel declined 9.5% to 590 workers.
During July and August Fastenal opened five stores, bringing its overall store openings to 32 for the year.
