Auld Succeeds Barker at Trifast

Trifast PLC named Steve Auld chief executive. Auld was appointed executive director in 2005 upon the acquisition of Serco Ryan. Auld has 24 years of fastener experience and succeeds Jim Barker, who officially steps down May 31.

Barker has been chief executive since 2002. Trifast chairman Anthony Allen thanked Barker for overseeing the Serco Ryan acquisition and “the transformation of the Group into a major player in the industrial fastener market.”

The Trifast Group reported annual sales of �117.3 million (US$234.9m) and profits of �5.6 million (US$11.2m).

Founded in 1973 as a fastener distributor, Trifast has been publicly traded on the London Stock Exchange since 1994. Trifast has six manufacturing plants in Europe and Asia and 1,200 employees.
