AZZ Inc. acquired 101-year old Acme Galvanizing Inc. and will operate it as AZZ Galvanizing & Plating / Milwaukee.

Acme was a privately held hot-dip galvanizing and zinc electroplating company providing quality metal coating services to the post-fabrication steel market.

Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

The acquisition provides AZZ a metal coatings operation with a diverse Midwest customer base.

Acme has four advanced fully automated zinc plating lines and an enclosed galvanizing kettle in an 80,000 sq ft facility. The Acme metal coatings plant will be integrated into AZZ’s network of 40 North American hot-dip galvanizing plants.

AZZ president Bryan Stovall termed the acquisition “synergistic” and part of “our strategic plan to drive profitable growth and strengthen our overall metal coatings business.”
