B&F Fastener Supply has opened a new 25,000 sq ft facility in Sioux Falls, SD, doubling its footprint in the city, Industrial Distribution reports.

The new branch allows the company to provide such capabilities as machining, custom packaging and the company’s BFirst vendor managed inventory program. The growth of B&F’s value-added programs required the additional space, according to Industrial Distribution.

“This new building will allow us to streamline our procedures, better serve our customers and continue our growth in the local market,” stated branch manager Rob Craig.

B&F first opened a Sioux Falls branch in 2008 in a 5,000 sq ft building before moving into a 10,000 sq ft facility in 2013.

In April, the company acquired the fastener division of Fridley, MN-based Champion Charter. B&F has absorbed Champion into its Ramsey location.

This year B&F Fastener Supply was named the Minnesota Family Business of the Year award by Twin Cities Business Journal.

Founded in 1988 by Loren O’Brien and the late Steven Johnson, today B&F has 200 employees at 14 locations in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, Nebraska and the Dakotas.

The second generation of the O’Brien family – Nicole Baltes, Aryn Young and J.J. O’Brien – have joined the first generation of Loren O’Brien and Barb O’Brien in leading the company.
