The Böllhoff Group opened a new fastener logistics center in Wuxi, China, responding to “steady” growth in the Chinese market, the group announced.
The building, which opened April 1, provides additional space for logistics as well as office space for sales and administration, with 9,700 square meters (104,409 sq ft) of floor space.
Böllhoff said the new facility “significantly expands the capacities available onsite,” with integration of a narrow aisle warehouse and numerous small rack systems. Office space was designed with open project rooms and relaxation areas.
“Expansion was necessary because after years of growth, the existing space was no longer sufficient,” stated regional logistics manager Julien Salerio. “Now the capacities are designed to meet the growing demands over the next ten years.”
The new center marks the fourth expansion of the Wuxi production site, which opened in 2004.
“Over the years, especially the product groups plastics technology and riveting technology have grown steadily,” the group stated.
Böllhoff now employs more than 200 staff in Wuxi.
Germany-based Böllhoff is a global fastener group with 45 companies at 36 locations in 24 countries. The group reported 2018 revenue of EUR 652 million (US$742 million) and employs 3,300 workers, including 1,500 in Germany. Web: boellhoff.com
