Bossard Group named Dr. Frank Hilgers as future manager of the business units in the northern and eastern Europe, effective May 1, 2019.

Hilgers, 52, will take over for Dr. Daniel Bossard, who becomes the Group’s new CEO next year.  Daniel Bossard, who is in the seventh generation of the Bossard family, will succeed David Dean, who has been CEO since Heinrich “Henry” Bossard died in a private plane crash in 2004 in New Zealand.

Hilgers is currently responsible for the global category management and distribution brands of fastening solutions, which he has managed for six years. He has been running this growth area very successfully for 6 years, since 2015 as a member of the executive committee. In 2019, he will add responsibility for the Germany, Scandinavia, Poland and other eastern European markets.

“With his many years of industry and market experience (Hilgers) is the ideal person to drive growth in existing markets via innovative new technologies and services and in market niches,” according to board chairman Dr. Thomas Schmuckli.

Founded in 1831, Bossard is a leader in modern fastening technology in the three industrial regions of America, Asia and Europe, with 2,300 employees in 80 locations. Bossard reported CHF 786.2 million (US$819.2 million) sales in 2017. Web: Bossard.com
