British Distributors Vote to Accept Irish Members
More than 80% of British Association of Fastener Distributors approved rules changes for the organization to become the British & Irish Association of Fastener Distributors.
The change comes after several major Irish fastener distributors approached BAFD last year interested in membership.
The first Irish members are Tucks Fasteners, Century Fasteners Limited, Appian Fasteners Ltd and Profast Ltd. TR Southern Fasteners now gains benefits of TR Group’s executive membership.
BIAFD chairman Keith Harrison noted the change “extends a record of more than ten years during which the association has seem consistently expanding membership and support from fastener distributors ranging from local family businesses to multinational corporations based in the United Kingdom.”
“We are very pleased to welcome our colleagues from Ireland and to be able to extend to them the news service, meetings and networking opportunities that have long been acknowledged as helping to keep BIAFD members better informed. Membership of BIAFD also provides links to fastener distributors throughout Europe via BIAFD’s founder membership of the European Fastener Distributors Association.”
