Craig Brown, VP for Global Aerospace Customers & Marketing at Alcoa Fastening Systems

Alcoa Fastening Systems promoted Craig Brown to vice president for global aerospace customers & marketing. Brown joined Alcoa in 1983, and in his new role is responsible for worldwide customer relationships, sales and marketing, customer service, and technical support for the aerospace fastening systems business.

Brown holds an MBA and masters and bachelors degrees in mechanical engineering. He is a Registered Mechanical Engineer and is a director for the California Manufacturers & Technology Association and American Locknut Manufacturers Association.

“The selection of Craig complements key strategic thrusts of the company as we further capitalize on our market leading position in developing preferred fastening system solutions to new aircraft and engine requirements, and as we work to better link customer business strategies with our global investments in growth and productivity,” AFS president Olivier Jarrault said.

Brown succeeds Rick Sharpe, who is leaving AFS to pursue a new business opportunity.

Alcoa Fastening, a business unit of Pittsburgh-based Alcoa, is a worldwide designer and manufacturer of specialty fasteners, nut and frangible collar systems, fluid fittings, assembly components and installation tools for aerospace and commercial applications. AFS has 6,500 employees, manufactures at 21 locations in 9 countries, operates seven distribution/logistics centers and is headquartered at 3016 W. Lomita Blvd., Torrance, CA 90505.
