Illinois Tool Works Inc. promoted Robert Brunner to executive vice president of the automotive fastener businesses worldwide.

Brunner has held a series of sales and management positions with ITW since 1980. He was named president of the North American automotive metal fasteners in 2002 and president of global automotive fasteners in 2005.

In 2001 the Industrial Fasteners Institute honored Brunner with the William Ward Leadership Award for his role in “marshalling fastener industry resources to focus on legislative actions, which amended the U.S. Fastener Quality Act.”

ITW also named Roland Martel executive vice president of the global automotive components businesses; David Parry executive vice president of the polymers and fluids businesses; Ronald Kropp senior vice president and CFO; and James Wooten Jr. senior vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary.

David Speer became ITW chairman upon the retirement of James Farrell in May 2006. Web: itw.com 2006 FastenerNews.com
