Bufab continues to expand in Europe by acquiring Mercantile OY, which has operations in Finland and Estonia. The company distributes industrial fasteners with annual revenues of about SEK 190 millions and approximately 50 employees.

The new company will have the name Bufab MercapartnerOY.

“This is an important step for Bufab,” stated CEO Hans Bjrstrand. “It gives us new possibilities to strengthen our positions in the Finnish and Estonian market and to strengthen our position to important strategic customers. Our strategy is to continue to expand during the coming years to become a leading supplier of fasteners and small parts worldwide.”
In 2005 Finnveden turned Bufab into an independent company with its own management and board of directors. Following the separation, Finnveden was purely a supplier of fasteners, engine components and structural components to the automotive industry, while Bufab provided fasteners for general industry.
