Canada Initiates Expiry Review on Fastener Imports from Asia
The Canadian International Trade Tribunal initiated an expiry review of its January 6, 2010, order (Expiry Review No. RR-2009-001) to determine if the continued or resumed dumping and subsidizing of certain carbon steel fasteners from China and Taiwan are likely to injure Canadian producers.
On August 21, 2014, the Canada Border Services Agency will determine if there is a likelihood of resumed or continued dumping and/or subsidizing. In the event of positive determinations, the Tribunal will determine by January 5, 2015, whether the continued or resumed dumping and/or subsidizing is likely to result in injury or retardation.
Information regarding the CBSA’s investigations can be obtained by contacting Mr. Joël Joyal, at the CBSA, Trade and Anti-dumping Programs Directorate, SIMA Registry and Disclosure Unit, 100 Metcalfe Street, 11th floor, Ottawa, Ontario K1A 0L8, by telephone at 613-954-7173, or by e-mail at www.cbsa-asfc.gc.ca/simna-lmsi/er-rre/menu-eng.html.
