Canada Investigates Dumping Claim Against China
Jason Sandefur
The Canadian government launched an antidumping investigation against China and Chinese Taipei. In a statement, the Canada Border Services Agency said the investigation was initiated after Toronto fastener producer Leland Industries filed a complaint alleging economic hardship from low priced imports. The scope of the investigation centers on the alleged “dumping and subsidizing of certain carbon steel and stainless steel fasteners.”” CNSA will investigate the allegations, while the Canadian International Trade Tribunal conducts an inquiry concerning the effects of imports on domestic fastener producers. Results are expected within 90 days. 2004 FastenerNews.com
