Caparo Cutting UK Jobs

Citing the global economic crisis, London-based Caparo Group is looking to cut about 500 jobs from its 2,500-strong workforce in the UK, Automotive World reports.
The news follows a round of layoffs at Caparo’s UK operations that eliminated about 500 jobs in early 2008.
Caparo produces fasteners stampings, braking systems and pressings for the automotive industry, with sales revenue of about US$1.28 billion.
Founded in 1968, the Caparo Group is comprised of over 40 companies operating in 60 sites throughout the UK, India, Spain, North America, Canada and Dubai. According to its website, the group employs more than 6,000 worldwide, including 715 in North America. Web: caparo.co.uk �2009 FastenerNews.com
