Cardinal Fastener Named Wind Energy ‘Supplier of the Year’
Cardinal Fastener was named “Supplier of the Year” by the American Wind Energy Association, according to Wind Today.
Cardinal Fastener president John Grabner will accept the award on November 18 at AWEA’s fall symposium in Arizona.
The award comes three years after Cardinal Fastener started supplying the renewable energy industry with blade studs and tower bolts. The company is North America’s only authorized manufacturer of safety-critical wind turbine fasteners.
Cardinal Fastener caught international attention when in January 2009 when then U.S. President-elect Barack Obama visited its facility — thrusting the Bedford Heights, OH-based company into the international spotlight.
In a recent interview on National Public Radio’s “Talk of the Nation,” Grabner credited his company’s expansion to manufacture wind turbine bolts for producing a “significant,” sustainable recovery for his company.
“This year alone, in a three-month timeframe, we increased our employment 47%,” Grabner told NPR. “And that’s just to keep up with the demand of supplying the product for construction of the new wind turbines.” ©2010 GlobalFastenerNews.com
