China Estimates First-Half 2012 Fastener Output

China’s metal fastener output reached an estimated 2,679,669.29 tons in the first six months of 2012, ChinaFastener.Info reports.
At that pace, China is on track to increase its fastener output by as much as 7.8% in 2012. China produced 4.97 million tons of metal fasteners in 2011.
Zhejiang province was the leading fastener producer, totaling 923,248.59 tons in the first half of 2012.
Rounding out the top five producers were Hebei (444,557.95 tons); Sichuan (241,506 tons); Jiangsu (237,804.98 tons); and Shandong (176,415.29 tons), according to ChinaFastener.Info.
For June China’s fastener output reached 551,049.61 tons. During the month Zhejiang production reached 179,702 tons; Hebei (126,888 tons); Jiangsu (43,404 tons); Shandong (38,912 tons); and Sichuan (37,304 tons).
In 2011 Zhejiang province was the leading producer, with 1.83 million tons — about 37% of the overall total.
Rounding out the top five fastener producing regions in 2011 were Hebei (954,191 tons); Jiangsu (624,983 tons), Shandong (317,699 tons) and Shanghai (316,905 tons), according to information provided by ChinaFastener.Info.©2012 GlobalFastenerNews.com
