China Fastener Exports Dwindle

China exports of steel and copper fasteners fell to 16 tons in September 2009, with the value dropping to $233 million, Xinhua News Agency reports.

Fastener exports from China have plunged 43.6% in the first nine months of 2009, with the value declining 47.4% to $1.75 billion.

Fastener producers in China have struggled this year as fastener tariffs by the European Union have curbed sales.
