China Fastener Exports Jump in First Quarter

China exports of steel and copper fasteners soared 54.3% to 317,367 tons during the first quarter of 2005, while the Q1 export value jumped 75.4% to $383.4 million.
In March fastener exports from China rose 43% to 113,554 tons, while the monthly export value increased 59% to $138.9 million, according to Xinhua News Agency.
The largest single-month percentage gain during Q1 came in February, when China fastener exports soared 82% to 88,681 tons, while the shipment value more than doubled to $107.5 million.
In January fastener exports from China climbed 48% to 115,133 tons, with a 76% value increase to $137.1 million.\ �2005 FastenerNews.com
