China’s Fastener Production Rises
During the first four months of 2015, China’s metal fastener output rose 14.4% to 2.82 million tons, ChinaFastener.Info reports.
The top five production regions were Zhejiang province (726,737 tons), Sichuan province (452,831 tons), Hebei province (401,607 tons), Jiangsu province (220,067 tons) and Liaoning province (176,457 tons).
The news comes amid uneven results for U.S. fastener production.
After healthy growth in March, U.S. fastener imports and exports fell in April.
U.S. exports of iron and steel fasteners (HTS Code: 7318) dropped 4% to $330.25 million in April, according to Zepol data analyzed by GlobalFastenerNews.com.
U.S. imports of iron and steel fasteners declined 5% in April to $493 million, Zepol reports.
Both U.S. fastener exports and imports grew in March, with exports increasing 13% to $343.7 million and imports rising 54% to $516.4 million.
