Curtis Metal Finishing Group is rebranding with a new logo.

The symbol signifies the grouping of four entities including the heat treatment plants in Madison Heights and Sterling Heights, MI, and Machesney Park, IL, serving fastener and stamping manufacturers. The logo pays homage to the fastener industry with its hexagonal shape, the red center signifying heat treatment at its core, and the silver, gray and black finishes that Curtis provides.

“We are focused on strengthening Curtis’ core capabilities, while positioning the company for the future,” CEO Jeff Wilson said. “Coming out of the pandemic, the industry is facing many challenges, and we will be ready. The rebranding signifies a fresh start and the next chapter for Curtis and our partners.”

Founded in 1927 by brothers Anthony and Ralph Hoensheid as a heat treat company in Detroit to serve the automotive industry, Curtis added coating in 1967. The Hoensheid family remains involved in management.

Curtis Metal Finishing provides heat treatment and finishing at four Midwest locations. Curtis heat treatment services include aging, carbonitriding, carburizing, case hardening, induction hardening, neutral hardening, normalizing, solution anneal and stress relieving.
