Danaher Reports Q2 Fastener Segment Sales

Danaher Corp. reported sales for its Tools and Components segment, including fasteners, fell 23% to $252.6 million during the second quarter of 2009, while operating profit declined 14% to $36.6 million.

Tools and Components revenue for the first six months of 2009 dropped 22% to $502.8 million, with operating profit dropping 33% to $53.2 million.

Overall Danaher sales during Q2 decreased 18% to $2.67 billion, while six-month sales dropped 16% to $6.3 billion.

In the fastener industry Danaher is known for West Hartford, CT-based Holo-Krome, which has manufactured socket screws and other fasteners for over 70 years. The tools and components segment, which contributed 10% of overall revenue, includes Danaher Hand Tool Group, Matco Tools, Jacobs Chuck Mfg., Delta Consolidated Industries, Jacobs Vehicle Systems and Hennessy Industries. ©2009 GlobalFastenerNews.com
