Family Firm Has 23 Family Members
Clarkwood Engineering Ltd. goes beyond being a family fastener firm. It employs 23 family members – a majority of the total workforce, the Daily Telegraph reports.
The youngest is 17-year-old machinist Ryan Guy. His grandfather, 63-year-old Roger Wood is the managing director.
There are brothers, sisters, nephews, wives, husbands, sons and daughters. The rest of the workforce includes in-laws and family friends.
“We all get along very well,” secretary Christine Watkinson – Wood’s sister – told the Daily Telegraph. “Of course, we have our arguments, but no more than any other company. No one messes around on the job because when we are at work, we are at work and act very professionally. ”
“We don’t often take very long lunch breaks and one thing is for sure, no one ever pulls a sickie,” Watkinson said.
