Fastenal Co. reported fastener sales continued rapidly growing in April. Fastener sales jumped 33.3% during the month after rising 14% in March. Fastener sales increased 4% to $460.5 million (32.5% of overall sales) in the opening quarter of 2021.

Safety products sales plummeted 40.9% during the month.

Overall sales at Fastenal grew 1.2% to $497.1 million in April, while daily sales totaled $22.6 million, up 1.2% from March.

Sales in the U.S. declined 4.3%, while sales in Canada and Mexico jumped 50.1%.

By end market, sales to manufacturing customers gained 30.8%, with sales to non-residential construction customers growing 11.9% in April.

The company’s workforce decreased 5.5% during the month to  20,401 employees. Distribution personnel increased 1% to 2,629, while manufacturing personnel fell 7.3% to 612 workers. Web: Fastenal.com
