Fastenal Opens 1st Surplus Store
Fastenal opened an experimental surplus store in its home town of Winona, MN, BB&T Capital Markets reported.
The initial store is small and stocked with surplus products stacked on tables under tents outside that Fastenal could not return to the suppliers.
Historically Fastenal sold surplus products through its stores. BB&T said the surplus store “is an effort to consolidate and clear that product in a more effective manner.”
If the surplus store – leased through Labor Day – is successful Fastenal may open surplus stores in major metro areas. ©2010 GlobalFastenerNews.com
