Fastener Exports – And Imports – Between U.S. & Taiwan Hit Double Digits

Taiwan’s fastener export value for Q3 achieved a 9% sequential gain to NT$27.8 billion (US$923.9 million) in the third quarter of 2010, boosted by rising inventories and increased industrial production, China Fastener Info reports.
 

Nine-month fastener output for Taiwan totaled NT$ 83.4 billion, according to statistics from the Industry & Technology Intelligence Service (ITIS). Exports rose 55% to NT$75 billion, with the average exporting price reaching NT$78.4/kg.
 

The value of fasteners imported by Taiwan grew 19% to NT$28 billion during the first nine months of 2010, with domestic fastener demand reaching NT$ 11 billion.
 

The U.S. remains the largest consumer of Taiwan fastener exports at 36%. Rounding out the top five export destinations was Germany (8%), Japan (5%), the Netherlands (5%) and China (4%).
 

More than half of Taiwan’s fastener imports came from Japan (52%), followed by the U.S. (14%), China (11%), Germany (6%) and Vietnam (3%). ©2010 GlobalFastenerNews.com
