Fastener Fair to Launch Thailand Show in 2012

Mack Brooks Exhibitions has announced the launch of Fastener Fair Thailand.
The trade show is scheduled for September 6-8, 2012, at the Bangkok International Trade and Exhibition Centre ‘BITEC.’

Since acquiring the world’s largest fastener trade show – Fastener Fair Stuttgart – in 2010, Mack Brooks has started shows in India – first held last April; Brazil, with the first show on November 8-9, 2011; and Hannover, Germany, set for April 24-26, 2012.

The next Fastener Fair Stuttgart is February 26-28, 2013.

Mack Brooks pointed to Thailand’s growing economy as reason to start a fastener trade show in Bangkok. “The country’s buoyant business climate has a particularly positive effect on industry sectors such as the automotive industry and its suppliers, the machine tool industry, the petrochemical industry, the construction industry, the medical technology sector, electronics and telecommunications as well as the energy sector. All of these industries play a key role in Thailand’s economy, providing excellent market opportunities for manufacturers and suppliers of the fastener and fixing industry.

In 2010 Thailand’s GDP has experienced its highest growth rate in 15 years, and projections are a growth rate of 4 – 5% per year. Imports increased 37% last year. Thailand exports grew 28.3% during the first quarter of 2011 compared with the same period last year.

Thailand is part of the ASEAN free trade area.

• Automotive production is forecast to grow 10% this year. Last year Thailand produced 1.7 million vehicles.

While Japanese car manufacturers current top Thailand’s automotive industry, the USA and Germany are showing interest in the country as a production site for car parts.

• Major infrastructure projects include modernization of the Bangkok traffic and construction of a high-speed train section across the country.

• Major hotel chairs are investing in the Thai tourism industry.

• Thailand’s electronics industry is also growing. The country’s key player, Delta Electronics, could register a 38% sales increase. While 85% of Thailand’s electronics pro duction is exported, the country’s growing automotive and renewable energy sectors are increasing domestic demand.

“A professional trade exhibition in an important industry sector such as fastener and fixing technology is vital in the face of the country’s economic growth potential and the large number of investment projects,” Mack Brooks chairman Stephen Brooks explained. “For international exhibitors the new show offers a great opportunity to approach this buoyant growth market and to establish business relations, both with customers, and with potential local agents or partners.”

Fastener Fair Thailand’s exhibition profile covers products and services for the fastener and fixing industry: including fasteners & fixings; assembly fasteners; construction fixings; assembly and installation systems; fastener manufacturing technology; storage, distribution and factory equipment; information, communication and services.
