Registration has opened for the 2022 Fastener Fair USA to be held May 17-19 in Detroit.
Advance registration to attend the trade show is $25. The price is $75 onsite.
There will be a one-day “Fastening 101: Understanding Fasteners & the Industry That Produces Them,” course on Tuesday, May 17. Laurence Claus will be the instructor of the class designed for users, purchasers, engineers and sales, and explores fastener engineering basics plus product and design fundamentals. Participants will learn about market segments where threaded fasteners are used and the cost differences; basic fastener engineering, including torque, stress, tightening strategies, bolt strength and tension control.
Topics include: Thread pitches; fastener terminology; platings, coatings; fastener materials; thread forming in steel, light metals, aluminum, magnesium and plastic; fastener market segments – construction, aerospace, industrial & automotive; properties of steel and strength consideration; fastener manufacturing – cold heading and secondary operations.
The second Fastener Fair USA was held in Detroit in 2019. The 2020 trade show was scheduled for Charlotte, NC, but ultimately canceled due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The 2021 trade show was held in Cleveland.
