Grainger Reports Sales Growth in April
Grainger reported daily sales, including fasteners, increased 4% in April 2016, boosted by a 4 percentage point contribution from Cromwell Group (Holdings) Ltd., acquired in September 2015.
Excluding acquisitions, organic daily sales were flat driven by a 1 percentage point increase in volume and a 1 percentage point benefit from the timing of the Easter holiday, offset by a 2 percentage point decline in price.
Sales in the U.S. declined 1%, while sales in Canada dropped 14% and sales in Grainger’s Other Businesses segment (Europe, Asia and Latin America) jumped 54%.
In the opening quarter of 2016, Grainger sales increased 3% to $2.5 billion. Web: grainger.com
